Valentines waffles

This morning Aubrey said "waffles!" And by the time I looked up a recipe she had pushed a chair into the kitchen.
This recipe looked to be a bit healthier than most waffle recipes with the addition of oats and a small amount of butter rather than oil; so I gave it a try.
Liam and I waited patiently in the living room and watched the chefs hard at work.
They mixed the dry ingredients together first and set that aside.
They whisked the wet ingredients together and then incorporated that into the dry ingredients.

We let the batter sit for 10 minutes as the recipe suggested.
We sprayed the waffle maker with Pam.
It suggested using 1/2 cup of batter.
The recipe made 9 pancakes; we froze the leftovers individually for a quick breakfast option.
Aubrey requested to do a "chopped" episode with her waffle. Her secret ingredients were waffle, mandarin oranges, blueberries and yogurt.
She won!
