New Years

Happy new year to everyone! The Christmas season brought busyness, fun, laughter and sickness. Even still we enjoyed the time with family, the food we created and ate, and the memories we made with our two sweet kids.
In the month of the December not only did we have Christmas events we had our little girls 4th birthday. She requested a "chopped" themed birthday party. I was up for the challenge!
I created a dessert "basket" for each child to create their own custom dessert.
Each child got to take home their own apron, cutting board, baking pan and five cooking tools. I did this instead of a goodie bag.
The party was full of action!
According to Aubrey they all won!

For her birthday Jeff and I  got a waffle maker. That was quite the hit!
Whipping cream and pomegranate seeds.
She's a little bit of a fan of whipping cream; if you couldn't tell!
Tada!
The morning of her actual birthday she made her own birthday breakfast with her daddy-chef as she refers to Jeff!

This morning I was feeling a little "full" from the holidays and so I requested oatmeal. We decided to do a "decorate your own oatmeal" breakfast.
Frozen blueberries, walnuts, raisin, & milk
Aubrey loved this; she even ate her entire bowl.
Liam was not a fan of the oatmeal.
Yogurt is more his style!
What a wonderful breakfast. We enjoyed this much needed time together.
Time to shovel!
